Invented railway-lines

The idea I have from Matthias Kipfer. It is fun to plan a fictional railway-line on a map. The aim of this work is to set the line as optimal as possible respecting the landscape, the connection and the costs. It’s important to connect chosen towns, to save bridges and tunnels and to destruct buildings as few as possible.

Some examples:

The Grimsel-pass Railway

Turning with around Innertkirchen with a slope of 27‰. Also on this map is my proposition of a great transfer through the alps (Basel-Olten-Wolhusen-Giswil-Meiringen-Bignasca-Locarno)

Elm-Thusis

A high bridge over the river Vorderrhein after the long tunnel between Elm and Flims could shorten the distance from Zurich to St.Moritz.

Biasca

From Biasca to Pontironetto with 27‰, was more fun than meaningful planning.
